OUR MAPLE SYRUP IS PURE ORGANIC.

What does it mean to be organic?

Organic food is produced by farmers who emphasize the use of renewable resources and the conservation of soil and water to enhance environmental quality for future generations. Organic food is produced without using most conventional pesticides; fertilizers made with synthetic ingredients or sewage sludge; bioengineering; or ionizing radiation. [1]

Who gives the organic stamp of approval?

Passamaquoddy Maple's USDA Organic designation is certified by the Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association. Our Maple Syrup products proudly adhere to the national and MOFGA maple syrup specific standards that this certification requires.

Isn't all maple syrup organic?

There are many factors that differentiate our organic maple syrup from conventional products. This all starts with our sustainable tapping methods which do not damage or overstress the tree in anyway. During maple syrup production we do not use any synthetic food additives such as mono/di-glycerides or polyethylene glycol- the main ingredient in anti-freeze.
